Bradley University will charter a second plane to accommodate demand from fans who want to watch the Braves play in the Las Vegas Invitational Challenge on Thanksgiving weekend.

BU business manager Ken Goldin said the original flight, which departs Peoria on Thanksgiving night and returns on Sunday, Nov. 29, was oversold. A second flight, which will leave Peoria on Friday morning, Nov. 27, and return on Monday, Nov. 30, has been added.

The team will be on the Sunday return flight, so the players can be back in time for classes on Monday, Goldin said. For that reason, a letter has been sent to fans who already have paid their deposits, asking for volunteers to be bumped to the Friday-Monday itinerary.

Cost of the trip is $999 per person for double occupancy, $1,199 for single. That includes air, tickets to the games, three nights lodging at The Mirage, luggage transfer, plus ground transportation between the airport and hotel, and to and from the games at the Orleans Arena.

Reservation requires a deposit of $300 per person, with balance due Oct. 1. For more information, call Goldin’s office at 677-3000.

Bradley will play either Oklahoma State or Utah on Friday night. Illinois is on the other side of the bracket.
