J.T. Durley and Toure Murry each scored 15 points Wednesday to lead host Wichita State to a 79-50 victory over Arkansas-Monticello in the CBE Classic.
Wichita State (2-0) was playing short-handed, down to eight scholarship players due to three injuries and the suspension of starting point guard Clevin Hannah. That forced Murry to play point guard, and he responded with seven assists and five rebounds.
EVANSVILLE 76, SIU-EDWARDSVILLE 46: James Haarsma scored a career-high 22 points to lead the hosts. Haarsma, a sophomore, made 10 of his 14 shots and grabbed 12 rebounds. Colt Ryan scored 14 points, Denver Holmes had 11 and Bryan Bouchie 10 for the Aces (2-0). Troy Taylor added 12 boards and six assists.
Mark Yelovich had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars (0-3).
