SPRINGFIELD, MO. —

Three Missouri State players finished in double figures in a season-opening home victory, 73-62 over Auburn of the Southeastern Conference.

Adam Leonard led the Bears with 14 points.

Missouri State limited the Tigers to only nine shot attempts in the first nine minutes of the second half, and Auburn made only two. That clampdown included a 5:15 stretch without a single field goal.

LSU 56, Indiana State 45: Storm Warren had his second double-double in as many games for host LSU. Warren had 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Tigers (2-0) advanced to a second round of the Dick’s Sporting Goods NIT Tipoff against Western Kentucky, which beat Wisconsin-Milwaukee 69-65. Dwayne Lathan led the Sycamores (1-1) with 12 points.
